“ We all know the facts. I don’t need to tell you about the 5 million Syrians who were exiled from their homes; I don’t need to tell you about the 13.5 million people still trapped within Syria who require immediate humanitarian aid. Now, it’s time to act out. It’s time to make a change. Let’s do it by starting from what we can do.”
We are living in a world where the Syrian refugees are running away from the bullets of the Islamic state, walking through the border of new land facing challenges. For the last six years since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war, the refugees have spread to all countries; 1.7 million are in Turkey where we are going to send socks to through the refugees relief fund, 670 are in Korea, and almost 5000 are in the US. They are all in need of serious aid and public support. Yes, their lives are getting deteriorated in the society we are living in, and it is indisputable that we all have the responsibility to make contributions to save them.
To be a part of the movement, I’m selling my handmade Korean traditional fans to raise fund for the Syrian refugees in Turkey. Each fan would cost $10, and the donations would go to the Institute of Asian Culture & Development (IACD) to send hundreds of socks to Syrian refugee camps. (All the fans are completely handmade by me, and you will be given a few designs to choose from besides the two in the picture above. I’ll try to update them promptly!)
I’ll send out an email and make a brief announcement at Episcopal about the campaign right after I get back from the break, but for now, please just simply send me an email including how many fans you would like to order.(email@example.com) Please give some support.
